OCAAUP 2018 Annual Meeting Resolution 2: OCOG Funding

This resolution was passed unanimously by the chapter leaders and members attending this year’s annual meeting in the Columbus suburb of Westerville.

Whereas the Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) provides funding to low-income students to attend a four-year university, public or private,

Whereas OCOG is not available to students who attend two-year public institutions – institutions which are often the gateway to a degree for low-income Ohioans,

Whereas OCOG funding has yet to be restored to pre-recession levels,

Be it resolved that the Ohio Conference AAUP urges the Governor and General Assembly to expand OCOG eligibility to public community college students,

Be it further resolved that the Ohio Conference AAUP urges the Governor and General Assembly to increase OCOG funding beyond pre-recession levels.
