Your Call: Free Speech on College and University Campuses


Earlier today I was privileged to participate in a stimulating discussion of free speech on campuses on the radio call-in show “Your Call” on KALW-FM in San Francisco.  Participating in the call were moderator Renee Kemp; Samantha Harris, director of policy research at the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE); Lecia Brooks, outreach director at the Southern Poverty Law Center; and me.  It was a stimulating broadcast covering such hot-button issues as the shouting down of outside speakers, free speech zones and codes, hate speech, trigger warnings, and online harassment.  To listen to a podcast of the show (it’s a few minutes short of an hour long) go here:
